You still have text based distractions but i d bet those wouldn t keep people attached to their phone as much. I still have the iphone right now without a sim but my plan is was to make the light phone my primary phone. The screen could be a tiny e ink screen that can only display phone numbers although if you really wanted to you could have a bigger screen to have more options like receiving sms and could use the wheel like the click wheel on old ipods. A normal android phone but it only has e ink would be a better compromise.

I don t know about android but in ios you can enable grayscale in accessbility settings and switch between that and normal by tripple clicking the home button. So the blloc zero18 is basically a standard android phone that has gray scale on by default and lets you display color with the touch sensor. This phone is 150 thats insane i paid about 50 for a old smart phone and you can also buy parts for it cheap if it breaks and fix it. I find smart phones usefull i personaly buy a cheap 6 year old one thats perfect even for today and then i get a cheap phone plan mine is about 2 a month for emergancys.

Going from one end to the other end would put the phone in and out of silent mode. That keeps you from most photo and video based distractions as well as games.
